The Paint the Train Competition started in 2018 as a partnership of the Arts Council of Surrey and the FVHRS to bring  artists in the Surrey area together with Surrey’s heritage, specifically the B.C. Electric Railway.

We are delighted to say that in 2019, the second event was even better.

However, in 2020 with the development of the SARS2 virus and increase in the COVID-19 illness many things in the world were cancelled, including our 2020 PtT competition.

For 2021 the Arts Council of Surrey and the FVHRS welcomed Langley Arts Council and all its members on board. The competition expanded to focus on the heritage of both Surrey and Langley.

Now for 2022 we are going on another journey, this time with a larger scope and a few changes. More modern train features and a new Junior category.

The scope of the 2022 PtT competition and the entry form is available.
