The Velocipede
What is a Velocipede?
The velocipede is a one-person, self-propelled maintenance vehicle.
We found ours sitting in a local garden holding flower pots. At first we did not know what it was. Doing the research we found pictures and determined how it was supposed to be used. A winter’s worth of work and we had a fully operational vehicle. As part of our tour you will get to drive the velocipede. If you have small children, they can safely ride as passengers. This is one of our most popular experiences.
Velocipede Rides
You can visit our velocipede, and try it out for yourself! Velocipede rides are included with the Heritage Rail Adventure.
As a unique souvenir you will earn a button that says ”I Rode The Velocipede”. Wear it with pride.
Tickets for the Heritage Rail Adventure can be purchased here.

About Our Velocipede
The FVHRS Velocipede was donated by Bill and Diane Garth of White Rock.
The Velocipede had been a garden ornament for many years at the Garth’s. It is our understanding that the Velocipede number 22128 was once owned by the CNR and was used in the Mt. Robson area.
It was in a dilapidated state, and restored to pristine condition by Director Harry Taylor.
