at Surrey’s Heritage Rail
Book Your Group Tour With Us
FVHRS offers fun and educational tours for schools, small groups and clubs. Come and experience all that Surrey’s Heritage Rail has to offer, and learn about the history of the B.C. Electric Railway!
Our tours consist of:
- A video presentation and discussion on railway safety (Grades 2 – 7)
- A ride on Interurban Car 1225, down the spur and back
- A ride on the Honey Bee Express speeder
- A short BCER history video in the Car 1207 theatre in our car barn
- A guided tour of historical storyboards
- A fun time on the Family Quad Car
- Children and chaperones then go back on the train where everyone gets a button that reads “I Rode the Surrey Heritage Rail!”
We arrive back at our replica Cloverdale Station and the tour is done. The whole tour takes approximately 1 – 1 ¼ hours.
Through discussion with the FVHRS, visits can be tailored to fit a particular lesson or unit on some aspect of public rail transportation that is centred on the BCER, or rail safety in general.
Please note: School tours are available on Mondays and Fridays ONLY. For Scouts, Guides etc. evening tours are available Monday to Friday.
