Rail Adventure
About the Adventure
Come to Cloverdale and experience the Heritage Rail Adventure!
It all starts at the Cloverdale railway station. This station is the exact replica of the original station built in 1910. In the station you may meet characters from the past telling you their story. You will see “Bill’s Corner Store” selling goods that can only be bought here.
On the outside patio you may experience some live musical performances – some amateur and some professional. Then there are the trains! You will board a fully restored B.C. Electric Interurban Railcar, and ride on a short journey, where you’ll be given the history of the car and told the story of the car’s restoration before returning to the station.
The adventure continues as you get off the train and enter the Discovery Centre world. The learning part of your adventure is seeing our movie in the #1207 theatre. Ring some bells, toot some horns and see the graphics on the story boards.
Buzz down the tracks on the Honey Bee Express. Enjoy the Family Quad Car. Earn your distinguished button by riding the Velocipede. A very rare experience!
The time goes quickly. About an hour. You are guided out of the centre past our Honey Bee hives and our wildflower meadow back to the Cloverdale Station.
A wonderful, unique railway adventure!
Adventure Schedule
The Heritage Rail Adventure is now closed for the 2024 season.
Our 2025 season starts up again May 3rd – check back at the end of March 2025 for updates!
Buying Tickets
Check back at the end of March 2025 for updates – our online ticket sales will launch in April 2025!

The Quad Car
Our volunteers designed and built a family hand-operated cart. The Family Quad Car is geared to ensure vigorous, yet safe, fun for the family. Operating the hand levers, families direct the cart safely down the tracks. Sometimes it’s hard to stop the laughter.
Come give it a try!

The Honey Bee Express
Buzz down the tracks on the Honey Bee Express!
The Honey Bee Express is a refurbished speeder which originally was used by maintenance people on the railway. We built passenger cars for it to pull and therefore it becomes the Honey Bee Express.
Come and experience a close-to-the-track ride!

The Velocipede
The Velocipede is a one-person, self-propelled maintenance vehicle. We found ours sitting in a local garden holding flower pots. At first we did not know what it was. Doing the research we found pictures and determined how it was supposed to be used. A winter’s worth of work and we had a fully operational vehicle. As part of our tour you will get to drive the velocipede. If you have small children, they can safely ride as passengers. This is one of our most popular experiences.
As a unique souvenir you will earn a button that says ”I Rode The Velocipede”. Wear it with pride!
Children must be 4ft 6ins tall to ride the velocipede.
