An Icon of the Fraser Valley Line
An icon of the British Columbia Electric Railway’s Fraser Valley line, the original Sullivan Station was built in 1909, and provided shelter for passengers for over 40 years until the passenger system was terminated in 1950.
FVHRS plans to restore the original station, and has built a replicated station to be used as a functional building once the Fraser Valley line is operational with heritage interurbans.
In 2020, the City of Surrey unanimously approved planning to activate the Sullivan Station. We are now requesting this project be included in the city’s 2023 budget.
The station will require construction of a new rail siding, similar to Cloverdale Station, for boarding the car, a doubling of the platform length to accommodate eventually a two car consist. We will need an electric lift to accommodate people with disabilities like the one at Cloverdale Station. As well, water, sanitary and hydro connections are required, along with the construction of a washroom in the station.

During a training session yesterday, Neal giving a hands on explanation of each component of the railway track including aspects such as details related to the “frog “ turn outs and switches. Each person was provided with a detailed drawing of the rail yard track for reference.
The first step in testing BCER interurbans 1225 and 1231 in a two-car consist is to couple them together. Today, that coupling occurred with Terry Nichols leading this step.
Tickets are now on sale for our 2026 season! Opening weekend is May 2nd and 3rd and closing weekend is September 26th and 27th.

Tickets for our 2026 season go on sale on April 1st! Our season opens on Saturday, May 2nd with the Heritage Rail Adventure, the "ride everything" concept, perfect for families. Sunday, May 3rd resumes our Sullivan Excursion, featuring a ride on a 1912 BC Electric interurban travelling on original BC Electric tracks!

Feel the magic of Christmas as we visit Father Christmas in his secret workshop. You will want to bring your whole family to enjoy our theatrical event that is sure to warm your heart and make you laugh.
This is a heritage railway theatrical experience that takes place on the train run on our 1/2-mile section of our track, with a destination visit to the secret workshop of Father Christmas. Please note the train does not run to Sullivan Station, it travels a short distance up our spur line and back to Father Christmas’s Secret Workshop. The Electric Express experience is approximately 50 minutes long.
This experience will set the scene for the start of a wonderful Christmas season.

It’s really happening! We really are finally back on TRACK!
Rides on Surrey’s Heritage Rail will start on Saturday, September 4! We will run every Saturday until October 9. The 1225 Interurban will run four trips each Saturday from Cloverdale Station to Sullivan Station and back. This is approximately a 50-minute ride. In addition, you can also ride the Speeder on our Spur line.
We will also be hosting special Halloween Rides from Cloverdale Station to Sullivan Station on Saturday October 16 and Sunday October 17. More information to follow, watch this space!
This is a fun family experience! Bring the kids, and bring Grandma and Grandpa too, they may have stories from when they rode the rails. Experience Surrey’s 110-year-old heritage rail history!
