Paint the Train Ver. 3 2021

The Paint the Train Competition started in 2018 as a partnership of the Arts Council of Surrey and the FVHRS to bring  artists in the Surrey area together with Surrey’s heritage, specifically the B.C. Electric Railway.

We are delighted to say that in 2019, the second event was even better.

However, in 2020 with the development of the SARS2 virus and increase in the COVID-19 illness many things in the world were cancelled, including our 2020 PtT competition.

For 2021 the Arts Council of Surrey and the FVHRS are delighted to host Version 3 of the competition with some changes. Of course there will be some COVID precautions, for the competition we are expanding to focus on the heritage of both Surrey and Langley and we extend a special invitation to the Langley Arts Council and all its members.

The scope of the PtT competition will now include heritage steam trains that operated in the area at the same time as the BC Electric. As the earlier competitions, all forms of media are acceptable.
